The group show Shifting States bring together works of artists Marie-Hélène Cauvin, Kakim Goh, Helena Martin Franco, Julieta Maria and Jean Morisset. These artists, all very active in the Canadian contemporary art community, draw inspiration from their Latin American life experiences to explore the many states of the human being in a variety of media: drawing, installation, video and literature. The show is presented as part of the LatinArte festival from September 3 to October 9, 2011, at the Park Extension Maison de la culture. Entry is free.
You can meet the curator Claudia Bernal for a guided tour and discussion on Friday, September 30 2011 from 1:30 to 4:30pm.
Also as part of the festival, a free training seminar for artists will be offered at the exhibition on Monday, October 3 from 5-7pm. For more information, call 514-872-6131.

L’exposition collective États Passagers réunit les artistes Marie-Hélène Cauvin, Kakim Goh, Helena Martín Franco, Julieta María et Jean Morisset. Tous très actifs dans le milieu de l’art actuel canadien, ils s’inspirent de la culture latino-américaine pour produire des œuvres variées : dessins, installations, vidéos, performances et écriture leur permettent d’explorer différents états de l’être humain. Présenté dans le cadre du festival LatinArte, du 3 septembre au 9 octobre 2011, à la salle de diffusion de Parc-Extension. Entrée libre.
Rencontrez la commissaire Claudia Bernal pour une discussion et une visite guidée vendredi, le 30 septembre 2011 de 13h30 à 16h30.
