Preview of Fall 2014 activities

Hello all,
We are happy to say that the Historical Society has kept busy this summer and has some exciting activities for you coming up this fall:
We have been working hard on a booklet covering the history of the neighbourhood from 1910 to 2010. This bilingual publication will cover the important people, events and places in each decade of Park Extension's history. And thanks to our summer intern, Clairine, it is full of great pictures and is quite visually appealing. You will definitely want to own a copy of this stroll down memory lane!
We will have a table at the annual fair on Hutchison street (in front of Parc Metro) on September 20th from 12-5pm. Stop by and visit us! If you'd like to volunteer at the table, just reply to this message and we'll find a time for you. Here are the local politicians stopping by our display (with volunteer Janice) last year:
Our annual meeting will be October 5th at Nick Semeniuk's place (7275 Acadie) from 3-5pm. All members are invited! It is also a great time to renew your membership in person, in case you can't use our online form (http://www.histoireparcextension.org/get-involved-impliquez-vous/become-a-member-devenez-membre).
Save the date: our annual Awards Night will be Saturday, October 25th at 821 Ogilvy at 6pm. There will be a three-course meal, followed by a great presentation on Montreal's old tramways from a local expert. You won't want to miss it! Copies of our new booklet will be available for purchase. We are also looking for volunteers to help with selling ads in the programme, setting up the room and welcoming people at the door; just reply to this email if you'd like to help out. More information, including supper options and ticket price, on the Awards Night page.
Our next regular meetings will be September 30, in a new room (SS-01) in the William-Hingston basement at 419 Saint-Roch. As always, feel free to contact us with any questions or ideas.
