This Thursday a documentary film will offer information about the history of one of the co-founders of Montréal, Jeanne Mance. In addition to giving her name to the street that runs for one block in Parc-Extension (between Beaumont and Jean-Talon), Jeanne Mance was the first nurse in the New World and was the founder of Hôtel Dieu hospital, the first hospital in the New World. ![]() The film is titled La Folle entreprise, sur les pas de Jeanne Mance. It traces Ms Mance's roots back to France and explores what might have motivated her to leave for New France, as well as the work and challenges she ran into there.
